Anhui Institute of Medicine

I. School Profile

Founded in 1955, Anhui Institute of Medicine (hereinafter referred to as “AIM”) is a public undergraduate college under the administration of the Health Commission of Anhui Province. Located in Hefei, Capital of Anhui, AIM covers an area of approximately 78.84 hectares. It hosts research platforms such as the Anhui Academy of Medical Sciences and the Provincial Genetic Medicine Center. The Anhui Academy of Medical Sciences comprises 5 specialized research institutes and 3 scientific service platforms, and has been approved as a post-doctoral scientific research workstation and a supporting institution for National Natural Science Foundation projects. AIM has 12 schools and offers 22 undergraduate and vocational programs. It has 1 directly affiliated hospital (Anhui No.2 Provincial People’s Hospital, a Grade III Class A hospital with 1 national regional medical center, 2 national key clinical specialty development projects, and an approved post-doctoral scientific research workstation), 1 directly affiliated stomatological hospital, 11 non-directly affiliated hospitals, 11 teaching hospitals, and 6 industrial schools.

Since 2021, Anhui Institute of Medicine has officially enrolled international students. AIM has also established cooperative relationships with universities in the United States, Australia, South Korea, Germany, Singapore and other countries, promoting faculty-student exchanges and international educational collaboration. Adhering to the motto “Virtue, Proficiency, Erudition, and Dedication,” AIM actively integrates into the Yangtze River Delta regional development, serves the “Healthy China” strategy, and is committed to becoming a high-level undergraduate medical college while continuously improving talent cultivation quality and international education standards.

II. Basic Admission Information

1. Undergraduate Programs (More undergraduate programs will be available in 2027)

Programs: Nursing, Pharmacy, Senior Services Management, Medical Laboratory Technology

Duration: 4 years

Qualification: Undergraduate degree

Degree: Bachelor’s degree

Medium of Instruction: Chinese

2. Chinese Language (Foundation) Program (30 students)

Program: Chinese Language

Duration: 1 year

Medium of Instruction: Chinese

III. Applicant Eligibility

1. Foreign citizens who do not hold Chinese nationality according to the Nationality Law of the People’s Republic of China and hold valid ordinary passports;

       2. High school graduates with satisfactory academic performance;

       3. Language requirement (for undergraduate applicants): Must pass the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) Level 4 or equivalent before enrollment;

      4. Physically and mentally healthy, meeting the health examination requirements for Chinese visa and residence permit application, as well as the specific health requirements for the applied program, and able to study and live normally in China;

      5. Good conduct, no disciplinary, public security, or criminal violations, and willing to abide by Chinese laws and AIM regulations;

      6. Friendly to China and respectful of Chinese customs;

      7. Generally, applicants must be between 18 and 25 years old. Those under 18 by September 1, 2026, must provide a guarantee letter from a guardian in China.

IV. Application Method

Application Period: April to June 2026.

Submit the following documents via email to the International Education School of Anhui Institute of Medicine at contactus@ahyz.edu.cn:

1. Anhui Institute of Medicine International Student Application Form for Study in China;

       2. Anhui Institute of Medicine International Student Scholarship Application Form;

       3. Copies of high school diploma and academic transcripts; current graduates must provide a certificate of enrollment from their school;

       4. Scan of passport information page;

       5. Copy of HSK certificate or proof of Chinese proficiency (for undergraduate applicants);

       6. Health certificate (valid within six months);

       7. Certificate of no criminal record.

V. Preliminary Review and Interview

After passing the preliminary review of application materials, interview arrangements will be notified separately.

VI. Admission and Registration

AIM will issue admission decisions and send the Admission Notice and Visa Application for Study in China (JW202) to admitted students. Admitted students must apply for a study (X1) visa at a Chinese embassy or consulate using these documents.

Registration Deadline: As indicated in the Admission Notice and its attachments. Late registration exceeding two weeks will be deemed as giving up admission qualification.

VII. Fees

Application Fee: 400 RMB/person

Tuition:

(1) 19,000 RMB/year (undergraduate programs)

(2) 13,000 RMB/year (foundation program, including textbook fees)

Accommodation:

(1) 1,000 RMB/person/year (quadruple room)

(2) 2,000 RMB/person/year (double room)

Insurance: 800 RMB/year

Residence Permit: 400 RMB/year

Textbooks: approx. 600 RMB/year (undergraduate students)

Medical Examination: approx. 400 RMB

Dormitory Supplies: approx. 400 RMB (voluntary purchase)
