In a remarkable demonstration of academic excellence, the Anhui Institute of Medicine (AIM) has announced that 18 of its students have been awarded the highly competitive Singapore Asian Nursing Scholarship (ANS) for the 2025 intake. This achievement marks the highest number of recipients from a single institution in China this year.
The selection was finalized after a rigorous, five-day on-site assessment conducted by a high-level panel from Singapore's Ministry of Health Holdings (MOHH), SingHealth, and Ngee Ann Polytechnic. The selection process spanned four intense days, featuring both written and oral examinations designed to identify the most promising candidates.
Out of a pool of 60 exceptional students from the four institutions, only 30 secured the full scholarship qualifications. AIM students distinguished themselves, capturing 18 of the coveted spots and leading the nation in success rate.
Following this success, AIM has initiated comprehensive support for the 18 scholarship recipients. The institute is now facilitating the students' medical examinations, passport and visa applications, and pre-departure training. This meticulous preparation ensures a smooth transition for the students, who are scheduled to commence their academic journey in Singapore in January of next year.
The Singapore Asian Nursing Scholarship program offers recipients a fully-funded education, covering tuition fees, accommodation, and a living allowance, while also providing valuable clinical training within Singapore's world-class healthcare system.
Anhui Institute of Medicine has been a key partner in this international program since 2006. With this latest cohort, the total number of AIM students who have benefited from the ANS program will exceed 270 by early next year, solidifying the institute's reputation for nurturing globally competitive talent in the medical field.
