A groundbreaking lecture on “Cervical Health Massage in Traditional Chinese Medicine”, delivered by Associate Professor Zhao Zhengmei from the School of Nursing, digitally connected with classrooms at the University of Sousse Medical School in Tunisia on April 23. Blending theoretical insights, live demonstrations, and interactive cloud-based practice sessions, Prof. Zhao’s innovative teaching approach showcased the unique charm of TCM massage, sparking fervent interest among Tunisian faculty and students. Attendees enthusiastically participated in hands-on exercises, praising the session as “enlightening and immensely practical.”

Co-organized by the Tunisian Asia-Africa International Development Alliance (GDAAA) and the Luban Workshop Cooperation Consortium for TCM, with special support from the Chinese Embassy in Tunisia, the event marked a key health-focused initiative under the “Overseas Exchange Program for Promoting Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture”. The project has reached five Tunisian universities, with the University of Sousse among its key partners.

The selection of Anhui Medical College’s TCM Nursing program for this cross-border collaboration is no coincidence. In recent years, the program has pioneered an “innovative mentorship model”, nurturing student expertise in traditional techniques such as therapeutic massage and Guasha while emphasizing holistic assessment and personalized care. Practical platforms like the Jujing Quanxiang Wellness Center have further enabled students to refine their skills. What began as a lecture on cervical health massage may well seed a new paradigm for internationalizing TCM nursing education, bridging cultures through the healing arts of ancient wisdom.
