In a significant move to bolster international collaboration in medical education, the "Anhui-Uzbekistan Medical Vocational Colleges Presidents' Forum & Signing Ceremony" was recently convened at the Xinqiao Campus of Anhui Medical College. The event brought together education authorities and leaders from nine Uzbek medical vocational institutions and six Anhui-based medical colleges, fostering dialogue on advancing medical vocational education cooperation and jointly promoting the "Health Silk Road" initiative.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Wu Wenyong, President of Anhui Medical College, extended a warm welcome to Uzbek delegates and highlighted the institution's commitment to its motto, "Virtue, Medical Excellence, Broad Knowledge, and Diligent Practice," alongside its achievements in training over 100,000 grassroots healthcare professionals. He proposed building a "Health Silk Road" and establishing a collaborative "talent cultivation overpass" to enhance mutual growth through open, win-win partnerships.

Mr. Sakhibov Oybek Kuylievich, Deputy Director General of the Department for the Development of the Vocational Education System of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, emphasized Uzbekistan's keen interest in deepening medical education ties with China. He expressed hopes to leverage Anhui's expertise through joint programs, faculty training, and knowledge-sharing to elevate local medical education standards while addressing the needs of Chinese enterprises operating in Uzbekistan.

Mr. Yao Deyong, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Anhui Provincial Education Department, praised the forum as a milestone in advancing international cooperation. He urged Anhui’s medical colleges to actively engage in global partnerships, contributing to the Belt and Road Initiative through educational excellence.

During the forum, representatives from both sides shared insights on institutional strengths, specialty programs, talent development strategies, and international cooperation models. The event culminated in the signing of nine partnership agreements between Anhui and Uzbek medical colleges, grounded in principles of voluntariness, equality, and mutual benefit.

The forum marked a pivotal step in implementing Sino-Uzbek educational cooperation commitments. By establishing a sustainable communication platform, it laid the groundwork for joint training of globally competent medical professionals and cross-border healthcare technology exchanges. Participants unanimously pledged to deepen collaboration, aiming to advance the "Health Silk Road" and contribute to global health and well-being.

The initiative aligns with China’s Belt and Road framework, emphasizing education and healthcare as pillars of international development.
